From learning to lasting impact—Scaling Netflix’s global talent strategy with Grow Creative.

CONTEXT

In 2023, Netflix and EY Future Friendly partnered to launch the Netflix Discovery Hub—a global digital learning platform designed to support and inspire storytellers and creators to excel in their craft. The platform builds on Netflix’s on-the-ground industry training by offering scalable, skills-based learning content directly from Netflix experts.

Having successfully developed a blended model of in-person and online training, Netflix and EY Future Friendly sought to understand the impact of their efforts—moving beyond delivery to measuring meaningful outcomes.

We collaborated with Grow Creative Managers and Netflix Executives across 14 countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia Pacific, and Africa to surface real needs and shape a sustainable, data-informed solution.

CHALLENGE
Netflix’s impact lies in telling global stories, and Grow Creative powers that mission by building a pipeline of diverse, world-class talent—behind the camera and beyond. The challenge was to measure the performance of this investment in creative education, both regionally and globally.

The brief:
Develop a way to track outcomes, connect learning programs to business goals, and ensure strategic decisions are driven by insight—not assumptions.

SOLUTION

We created the Grow Creative Vitality Measurement Program—a scalable, human-centred measurement system designed to build alignment, track progress, and deepen engagement across diverse geographies and creative communities.

This program is anchored by four core components:

    • Strategic Measurement and Evaluation (MEL) Framework: A principles-based model that defines success, maps metrics to goals, and builds in adaptive learning loops. It ensures accountability while linking creative learning activities to tangible, long-term impact.

    • Data-Driven Digital Portals: Interactive tools that allow real-time data collection, analysis, and visualisation—making complex data accessible, transparent, and useful for decision-making across teams.

    • Qualitative Interview Scripts: Structured to gather rich, contextual insights from learners, partners, and stakeholders. These scripts uncover personal narratives, motivations, and experiences that deepen the understanding of impact beyond numbers.

    • Multi-Language Reporting Templates: Customisable, inclusive templates designed to share findings in multiple languages and formats, ensuring accessibility and cultural relevance across all regions.

Together, these elements create a shared language for leaders, teams, learners, and industry experts—enabling meaningful conversations and strategic alignment across Netflix’s global creative training ecosystem.

IMPACT

For Grow Creative, this means being able to track learner progress, identify skill gaps, and address barriers to inclusion across the creative workforce.

For Netflix, it means nurturing and retaining talent globally—while ensuring that the stories told on screen reflect a greater diversity of lived experiences and cultural perspectives.
